I am inspired to write this blog today by something I witnessed this morning as I was
sitting by the swimming pool at the Spa Hotel in Dalyan Turkey. A young lady who was fully
dressed and was taking selfie's of her self , she was so engrossed in looking at herself and
fascinated by her own image, that she fell into the pool fully clothed and no doubt ruining
her smart phone as well.
I have also heard of more serious and sometimes fatal attractions that arise from this obsession
and fascination for taking our own images.Several have walked over the edge of the cliffs at
Beachy head in Dover, and fell 300 feet to their deaths an the bottom, many too have walked
out into the road heads clued to their smart phones and are mowed down by a lorry or a bus.
This phenomena of looking at ourselves and the posting of photos on the social media sites like
Facebook and Instagram, have also been fostering more seedy and negative images of young
girls in particular putting semi naked photos of themselves and entering into conversations with
other "teens" who are really adult predators of young children posing themselves and pretending
to be a teenager.
The phenomena of selfie smart phone obsessions have opened up a new window of depravity and
soul sickness, there are selfies of young girls mostly, cutting themselves and then posting photos
of this on the media websites, and websites have arisen from the swamps of depravity and low life
activity, aiding and abetting young vulnerable girls and boys to show photos of their cutting
themselves, and if this is not gross enough, a lower depth of depravity has opened up, where
websites are seen to be giving out information as to how to kill yourself, and just before you die
of the overdose of drugs we encouraged you to take,please take a final selfie of your impending
death!!! Think how many likes your death will make of the social media site.!
The era of the smart phone caused the birth of the selfie crazed obsession, and websites sprung
up like magic mushrooms to cater for this new craze,so too did all the sickos and perverts crawl
out of the woodwork and take advantage of this new avenue and opportunity to practice their vile
and perverted ways.
A crescendo of sickness and fatal obsessions await mankind this day,the selfie sickness will make
the Greek character Narcissus look like an ugly moron by comparison.
