SEAL HOLE IN PSYCHE. S H I P .

 

This blog today entitled SHIP is about what I feel is the real root cause of all 

Addictive disorders and also those feelings of depression and mental and psychological

problems . Holes in our PSYCHE are when we feel instinctively or mentally that something

is "MISSING" in our lives. I know from my own personal experiences with chronic 

alcoholism where I nearly died with it back in 1974, but have now been sober and well

for over fifty years thanks to the AA fellowship. My hole in the psyche was that I did not

seem able to mix well in company, and always felt awkward and had difficulty in making

girlfriends, seemed unable to talk with them .But when I took a drink it was like a magic

potion, I suddenly became very confident and could easily chat to females., this only lasted

a couple of years , then my life became solely addicted to drink , I could not function or

live without it daily. I spent several months in a mental hospital, was discharged and 

drank again Then in 1974 my doctor gave me three months to live., I then joined AA 

and sobered up. that was over fifty years ago now. My hole in the psyche was that I was

completely ignorant of who I really was, what is missing , that hole inside us is crying out 

for us to look within and find that real being within you and not that cardboard cut out 

you thought you were. My hole seemed to be filled by alcohol , but then it turned on me

and nearly destroyed my life completely. Hundreds of millions of addicted souls abound on 

Earth . We all have one thing in common , "A GULF of Emptiness" within us and whether

it be food, sex, drink, drugs, gambling,  lack of self esteem , we try to fill this hole with

what we feel will satisfy this empty feeling. We need to become WHOLE we need to

look within ourselves seek out help, and maybe get some counselling, take up meditation

or yoga. That is what I did to seal that hole in my psyche or soul. To let go of our addiction

and seek out a higher power , get to know your true inner self, we are all spiritual beings

incarnated upon this Earth to gin experience and finally wake up into full SELF knowing.
